Chapter One
(sorry, this chapter is kind of depressing >.> and the part in Lich's past is badly written, sorry!)

It was a dark, quiet night. Small puddles of rain water reflected in the light of the half moon. Above, storm clouds threatened to burst and send showers of icy rain down. The streets of the little, run-down town were completely empty. Not a single light could be seen from the few houses that were occupied, but the lights from the more populated town a few streets down were slightly visible. The only noises that could be heard were the faint barking of a dog and drips of water as they slowly leaked from full rain clouds.
On this cold night, a small child sat in the corner of a short alleyway. His legs were brought up to his chest and his head was rested on his knees. He wore a simple white, button up shirt, shorts, and socks that were all two sizes too big. His scruffy dark brown hair covered the top of his light blue-violet eyes. The unusual thing about this six year old was the big brown cat ears that stuck out of the top of his head and the long, fluffy, brown tail that was wrapped around his body.
He shivered as a spine-tingling breeze swept through the alley and wrapped his tail tighter around him in the hop to keep warm.
"Hello?"
The little boy looked up abruptly as another boy, about two years older than himself, stood in front of him. He had light brown hair with darker tips, pale skin, and two different coloured eyes; his right eye was neon green and the left one was sky blue. He had a caring, slightly psychotic, smile. His black, long-sleeve shirt and pants were a little dirty with a red substance that the cat-boy hoped to be ketchup.
"I'm Doran," He said, sitting down beside the little boy, "What's your name?"
"I...I'm Lich…Licheno…" He said, kind of uncomfortable that a person he just met was sitting beside him, but he didn't move because Doran was slightly warming him up.
"Licheno, huh?" Doran asked, "Cool."
"Yeah…It's Italian…I think." Licheno said quietly.
"Italy? That's cool. Are you mother or father from Italy?"
Licheno felt his eyes tear up as he thought of his parents.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Doran asked, looking at Licheno.
Licheno turned away and whispered loud enough for Doran to hear, "My father left before I was born, and my mother died. They left me alone, with no one..."
Doran smiled sadly, remembering his own parent's tragic death. Both got their lives taken by a group of thugs who attacked them last year. Why they let Doran live, he didn't know, but Doran promised that he would track down and kill each of the members. Although Doran was only eight, he had a longer list of future victims than most.
Doran gently patted Licheno's back, "It's okay," he said.
Licheno's eyes suddenly shot open as he remembered his life a few days ago…
He sat in a big metal chair in a large white lab room. When Licheno opened his eyes slowly, he could only see out of his left eye. There were two people in white lab coats standing around him. His head buzzed and his chest hurt. It felt as if his heart wasn't even there. Licheno felt large hands pick him up and set him on the cold, tile floor. He looked at the people and tried to run, but couldn't because someone grabbed him. Licheno hissed and felt the urge to bite the hands holding him. As he did, the person holding him yelled in surprise and pain as they let go of him. As Licheno ran towards the door, he felt as if he was running faster. He heard the two people loudly try to get him, but Licheno dodged them easily. Licheno was very scared, but he was also impressed at his sudden skills. He ran toward the door again and, to his luck, another person in a lab coat opened it. Licheno ran between their legs and down the empty, white hallway. He heard the shouts and footsteps from the people running behind him. Panting, he turned a corner to see a small white cart with a long, white sheet over it. He ran under the cloth and sat as quietly and stilly as possible, holding his breath as he heard the people run by. Once their quick footsteps faded and he no longer heard them, he got out and ran in the opposite direction. As he ran, he looked for a door, a window, anything to get him out of that place. Just as he saw a door, he heard footsteps pounding on the hard, tile floor. The shouts and loud footsteps seemed to be coming from all directions. Licheno was tried, hurt, and out of breath. He collapsed on the floor as people surrounded him. Tears streamed down his cheeks as one person came forward and knelt beside him. "It's okay," They said as they patted Licheno's back and led him away from the door to his freedom…

Licheno cried and gripped his knees tighter.  Doran stood up in front of Licheno.
"Licheno," He said, handing his hand out to Licheno, "Come with me,
I will never
Leave you alone."
It's more like a prologue X3

Yeah, the next ones will be a lot better!

More will be submitted to ~Ask-Doran, so check there! :D
